**There will be a lot of spoilers in this review today this movie has been out for 28 years so you have been living under a rock if you have not heard of these films and what happens in them**

Synopsis;

movie 1; Kevin gets left behind when his family wakes up late for a large family trip. He fights off two intruders by creating some clever booby traps

movie 2; Kevin almost gets left behind again but ends up following a man that looks like his dad to the wrong plane and ends up in new york. somehow the two intruders that he fought off before end up in new york as well and adventure endures.

#1 Rotten Tomatoes rating 63% (shocking!) and the audience rating is 79%.

#2 Rotten Tomatoes rating 30% (again shocking!) the audience rating is 61%

I have loved these movies for as long as I can remember! I don't have a large family and couldn't imagine being forgotten but also thought oh my how fun would it be not to have any parents around for a few days! do what you want when ever you want. I think Kevin handled himself quite well. He grew up a little bit and took charge of himself, also while finding an abundance of stuff to play around with and not worrying about getting yelled at!

The first one was really cleaver in dealing with Harry and Marv. They were really effective but also not complicated and were exactly what a child would use as weapons.Toy cars, paint cans, ice and Christmas ornaments. Fun fact of about the ornaments that Marv steps on were made out of sugar! I always cringe at the scene with the nail.

I love how hard Catherine's character tries so hard to get back to her son, even though she did forget about him in the first place but at least she is trying to make up for it, she did end up in the back of a UHaul with a polka band.

I never understood why no one never stood up for Kevin against his Uncle Frank, yes Kevin caused a huge scene but I would never let a family member call any other family member a little Jerk or talk to him like that. He is a very rude self centred man.

The second movie kinda reverts Kevin back to his old selfish ways. He gets lost in the airport because he was too busy trying to get batteries into his new toy and follows the wrong man to the wrong plane and ends up in new york... which they hugely foreshadow with the commercial.

Fun facts about this film is yes Donald Trump shows up and gives Kevin directions (which is a really hot topic right now but this blog is not about politics!) but in fact Trump actually owned the plaza at the time of filming. Macaulay got paid a HUGE amount to do this movie and was the biggest pay for a 12 year old.

Kevin was pretty brave touring around town by himself, also was really worried about the fact that not a lot of people really did anything for him when it was clear that he didn't want to be with Harry and Marv when he was screaming his head off. another thing that was impressive was both of them fitting into those tiny playhouses at the toy store.

Tim curry in this film was beyond amazing, his smile and acting was just so on par with being a snotty new yorker working at a swanky hotel. The pigeon lady kinda freaked me out cause I cant imagine letting all those birds just chill out on me. Three things that really bothered me about this movie was after Kevin and the bandits had their run in at the town home they both were covered in tarnish and then the bird lady threw all that seed on them she is actually poisoning the birds that she loves so dearly, the other thing is that when they are at the town home they all climb down a rope to the street but it comes to light that it is soaked in Kerosene, HOW did it not get all over Kevin!? movie magic I guess... the last and final thing is a very large scene which is the final scene with the family in the suite is that Buzz suggests that Kevin should open the first gift, but by the end of his speech he gives up and tells everyone just to go crazy and that Kevin doesnt actually get to open the first gift, next is that the toys are from Mr.Duncan and obviously he doesnt know everyones names but how is everyone supposed to know what gift is for them? Uncle Frank gets angry and tells everyone not to touch his presents....HOW does he know which are his? Then when Kevin leaves his family to meet the pigeon lady he somehow changed really quick and managed to grab the turtle dove ornament off the tree without his family stopping him??
